This post is part of Top Ten Tuesday run by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.
Desert Island Discs is a pretty popular segment on BBC Radio 4. Some of the world’s most famous faces come along and list out the eight CDs they’d like to have with them if marooned on a desert island.
I’ve decided to put my own spin on it to create a list of the books I’d bring to stave off the boredom of a desert island.
You can also choose one luxury item that doesn’t help you to escape the island, so there goes my request for a copy of How to Build a Boat.
This year I’ll be making a really conscious effort to control my TBR. The Down the TBR Hole challenge was created by Lia over at Lost In A Story and it’s a great way to take a look at your shelf and make some pretty tough decisions a little easier.
All you need to do is:
Go to your Goodreads TBR shelf
List it in ascending order.
Pick the first five (or ten if you feel adventurous)
Decide whether to keep the book on your TBR or remove it.
Before I start the cull, I need to make it clear. Though I might be clearing a lot of books from my shelf this time, I do really enjoy chick-lit as a genre. I’m going to do eight in this post.
