Purple, Yellow and Green Books

This post is part of Top Ten Tuesday run by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl

Today is Mardi Gras, and the colours associated with this holiday are purple, yellow, and green. Those three colours also happen to be my three favourites.

In fact, one of them features in my blog name, one is my national colour, and one of them is my absolute favourite colour. So, this week’s prompt seems like it was perfectly made for me.

I don’t feel like I have a whole lot of them on my bookshelves, but I do love a book with any of those colours. Have you read any of them?

Red and White Books to Make You Feel Festive

This post is part of Six for Sunday, run by Steph from A Little But a Lot.

When I think about Christmas colours, I always think of colours like red, green, gold, or white. Red is such a Christmassy colour, and it absolutely dominates festive advertising or decorations. Of course, white is one of the ultimate Christmas colours. Who doesn’t wake up on Christmas morning and hope to see a blanket of white when they open the curtains?

For today’s Six for Sunday, I’ve put together a list of Christmassy books with festive colours. These will for sure bring some festive cheer to your reading in a year we need all the festive cheer we can muster.

Books with Autumnal Coloured Covers

This post is part of Top Ten Tuesday, run by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.

When autumn hits, I like to bring some autumnal coloured books into my reading. If there’s any hint of reds, oranges, browns, or yellows on the cover I am all over it.

I’ve been very lucky that the book has been just as good on the inside as the outside was, too. If you want some autumn-hued reading, then I’ve got some great ideas here for you.

This post is part of Top Ten Tuesday run by Jana from That Artsy Reader Girl.

I love books with seasonal covers, that is a book where the cover reminds you of one of the seasons. Let’s just see how often that will come up in this list of the most eye-catching and beautiful covers I’ve read so far in 2020.

Books in my Favourite Colour

This post is part of Six for Sunday run by Steph from A Little But a Lot.

Posts like this always bring out the truth.

My blog may be called Pretty Purple Polka Dots, but purple isn’t my favourite colour. My favourite is actually yellow, I just couldn’t think of any cool blog names involving yellow when I started this way back in 2012.

So, with that in mind, when Steph asked us to share covers with our favourite colour on them, don’t be surprised if purple doesn’t feature too much here. Or at all.
