Review: Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis

This book did not fit any of my challenge prompts.

What if you fell in love
… and then he disappeared?

When Noelle and Sam’s lives collide one snowy evening, they spend eight perfect hours stuck side by side believing that they’ll never see each other again.

But soon their lives become entangled in ways they never expected – and it’s going to change everything…

Don’t miss the latest, hotly anticipated love story from Lia Louis! Perfect for fans of Beth O’Leary, Josie Silver and Cecelia Ahern.

What I liked:

This is a fantastic and sweet story of love, second chance love, and serendipity. I loved the chance encounters Noelle and Sam find themselves in, as well as the little connection with a secondary character that comes to light later in the book.

This story isn’t just about the relationship between Noelle and Sam, but there are also some deeper themes in it. It deals wonderfully with the topics of recovery from a stroke and postnatal depression.

What I didn’t like:

THere are some moments of predictability and some of the serendipitious moments between Noelle and Sam are a little too unbelievable.

If you’re looking for something fast paced, this might not be your book as I found it a little slow paced. However, I never felt that it dragged, and the story is wonderfully engaging.

Out of five:

Four. I loved this book and read the full thing in one sitting.
