The Christmas Eve Book Tag

I’m may be a grown adult, but I absolutely love Christmas Eve. It’s one of my favourite days in the year, and the anticipation of what’s to come tomorrow is so exciting.

I found this super cute tag on You Tube, and it was created by Sam. Maybe you too will find some great books to pass away those final 24 hours before Christmas.

Christmas Eve morning: what is a book you wake up excited to read? One you anticipate reading or one you read in the past that you want to get back into?

Every Christmas, without fail, I read Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. It gets me into the festive spirit, especially at the end when Scrooge repents.

Christmas Eve breakfast: what are your favourite treats during the holiday season?

In Ireland, we have these. It doesn’t feel like Christmas if I haven’t got a selection box to nibble on while watching Christmas TV.

Family Time: What is a book that fills you with happiness and love, or warm fuzzies in general?

There’s not much more heartwarming than To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I love Lara Jean so much, and I would love her to be my friend in real life. It also has that gorgeous feeling of your first love.

Christmas Carols: What are your favorite Christmas Carols or holiday songs?

I absolutely love Kelly Clarkson’s Underneath the Tree. It’s a classic of our time.

Anticipation: What is a book release you are very much anticipating?

I cannot wait for Pretending, Holly Bourne’s next adult fiction release.

You hear sleigh bells on the roof and are so excited you can’t sleep!: What is a book that kept you up all night?

When I was 18, I stayed up until about 2am on a school night reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It utterly broke me, but I loved it completely.

It’s Christmas morning, and Santa has come: What is a book on your wishlist that you hope to unwrap?

I’d love to get American Royals by Katharine McGee. I love an F/F romance, and this one sounds pretty much what I’m looking for.
