2019 Reading Challenge: The First Quarter

Every three months, I like to check in on the progress of my reading challenge throughout the year. I sliced a little off my reading challenge this year, both in terms of the prompts I’ll be filling in and how many Goodreads books I want to tick off. So, now the first three months of 2019 are behind us, how did my reading fare? Does it look like I’m on course to boss this challenge again?

Goodreads Challenge

Since I finished work in January I’ve had plenty of tine to catch up on some reading. I’ve ticked off 28 books so far this year, which is almost half the target of 70. I think it’s going well so far, and I’m pretty sure I could have this challenge completed by September/October. If I really apply myself, maybe it could be sooner.

PopSugar Challenge

I’m not doing as many prompts this year as I’ve knocked out the Modern Mrs Darcy Challenge, so I was expecting to go full steam ahead with the PopSugar one. I have- I’ve ticked off 10 of the prompts so far, almost a quarter of the way through.

Are you taking on a reading challenge this year? How are you faring?

  1. Hey, you’re doing awesome! I’m doing the MMD 2019 Challenge, but have fallen off with my Book Riot 2019 Read Harder Challenge obsession (I’ve read 11 books for that, with 13 to go). I do have several books picked out for further MMD categories, so I’ll get there eventually, it’s still early! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m at 53 books out of a 100-book goal (I mentioned that to my son the other day, and he kind of squinted at me and said, “You do know what month it is, right?” Ha!), so, you know, not too bad. I’m looking forward to warm summer days at the park, where my daughter can run around and tire herself out, and I can read. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I set my 2019 goal for 60 books and I’m 20% of the way there. I hope to get the first of the series I’m working on completed tonight and then the following two done and returned to the library before I move later this month. That will get me 25% of the way done!
