25 to do before turning 25

I’ve only just turned 24 and already I’m thinking about next year. Steady on, like.

I hit my quarter life crisis hard already though, and I know there’s a lot of things left that I need to have ticked off. Buzzfeed recently released a list of 25 things to do before you turn 25 and since I have 363 days left, I think I have plenty of time to get a fairly decent amount of them crossed off.

Today marks 24 years of my existence, and probably as long of my love of books. I’ve read hundreds of books across my life, from reading with my parents, learning to read in school, to setting up my own book blog and speaking openly about some of my favourite titles.

The hardest goodbye

It’s been a week, and it still hurts.

Last Wednesday we said goodbye to the biggest, fluffiest loser I’ve ever met. Lucky came into my family as part of the first litter of our cat Alfie, and I was besotted from the word go. She was gentle, loving, and I don’t think anyone who met Lucky had anything bad to say of her.

Interview with an author: Sara Mendes da Costa

You might not recognise Sara’s name, but if she spoke you’d definitely know her voice. Sara is the voice of the Speaking Clock, and is the fourth person to hold this title since its inception in 1936. She’s also a successful, world-renowned voiceover artist, her dulcet tones are easily recognisable on television, radio, film and across countless media.

I caught up with her to chat about putting her voice to paper, and about difficult decisions in life.
