Why I hate the dishwasher

Of all things the kitchen throws at us, the worst offender is one of the most helpful machines; the dishwasher.

Dishwashers are not our friends.

Do not trust this machine

Behind its helpful nature is a hidden agenda. One which only end in a deep seeded hatred for your dishwasher.

The smell

Due to all the types of leftover food in there, when an unwashed machine is opened out wafts a stench that can only be described as unpleasant. Which is still an understatement. There is only one way to defeat it; gas masks at the ready.

Fitting everything in

Remember how when you were a child you loved playing Tetris? Welcome to the adult, real life version. This one is not as fun. Missing work because you were trying to fit your cereal bowl into the drawer is now a valid excuse.

Maybe if I put this plate here. . .

Emptying the dishwasher

When the dishwasher has finally been filled to satisfaction/burst, there’s one step after the cycle is over. Now we have to put everything away? Whose turn it is to empty the dishwasher could be classed as an argument that could turn to divorce.

If a glassĀ is upturned

Good luck.

Appetising. . .
