High School Musical- What happened after Graduation

It’s hard to believe that High School Musical is seven years old. No, really, I didn’t think it either. And, just like the rest of us, the cast have grown up in those seven years.

Zac Efron (Troy Bolton)

Well hasn’t someone grown up quite nicely?

Zac has appeared in several films since hanging up his sneakers and saying goodbye to Troy. He starred as Link Larkin in the 2007 version of Hairspray beside John Travolta. He was also the younger version of Matthew Perry in 17 Again, as well as appearing in Charlie St. Cloud. Where he went around with no top on. Several times. He’s very considerate, that man.

Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella Montez)

Hasn’t changed a bit!

In a typical case of “it’s always the quiet ones” (kind of), Vanessa’s name appeared in the papers in 2007 and 2009 linked to ‘bold pictures.’ No, I’m not posting them here.

Professionally, Vanessa has been as busy as Zac. She released two albums, V in 2006 and Identified in 2008. She also starred in Bandslam, Beastly, and most recently appeared beside fellow Disney alumni Selena Gomez in Spring Break.

Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans)

Natural brunette, wouldn’t ya know?

Like Vanessa, Ashley released two albums after HSM; Headstrong in 2007 and Guilty Pleasure in 2009. But she didn’t stop acting, either.

Ashley appeared as Savannah Monroe in TV series Hellcats, and is currently filming Scary Movie 5, the fourth sequel to the 2000 film. She also provides the voice of Candace, Phineas’ older sister, in the cartoon Phineas and Ferb.

Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans)

This fella has the secret to eternal youth. Someone find him and ask him.

Lucas has fallen slightly off the radar since East High closed its doors, but he hasn’t gone away completely. He starred in Milk in 2008 with Sean Penn and is currently playing Toby in TV series Switched At Birth.

Will we have one of the songs, just for old time’s sake? Don’t pretend you don’t know the words. Or the dance.
